Motorcycle Paint Visualizer: See a New Paint Color on Your Own Bike
Upload a side photo of your own motorcycle, name the panels and the paint color and finish, and see it on your bike before you pay for paint. Real paint can look different from any render.

Before and after examples
Each pair is one motorcycle photo and the same photo after one Modification Goals request, sent to the image model that Custom Vision uses but with more processing steps than the live tool default, so your own render may be rougher. Each before and after image is a single run. The full request text sits under each pair.

All before and after images are AI-drawn samples from our own image model, not photos of real customer bikes. The bikes are plain generic bikes with no names, numbers or logos. Under each pair we list which parts of the request worked, which did not, and any change we never asked for.
See it on your own bike first
Most examples online are shown on someone else's bike, and a color or part that looks great on one can look wrong on yours. WheelAI redraws your own photo with the change you describe, so you can compare a few options on the bike you ride before you spend anything.
The example bikes below are AI-drawn generic stand-ins, not photos of real customer bikes or a specific make.
Finish names worth using in your request
The finish changes the look as much as the color. Gloss, matte, satin, metallic, candy and pearl are the usual words. Matte black and gloss black look very different, so name the finish as well as the color.
Published guides describe candy as a translucent tinted coat over a reflective base, and pearl as a pigment that shimmers and shifts with the viewing angle. A still render cannot show that shift, so judge pearl and candy by their color and depth only.
How to preview motorcycle paint
There is no separate paint mode. The Modifications tool edits any vehicle photo, and its Custom Vision mode takes your own wording.
- 1
Take the photo
A side-on photo in daylight with the whole bike in the frame and a clean background works best.
- 2
Open the Modifications tool
Upload your photo and switch to Custom Vision.
- 3
Name the panels, color and finish
In the Modification Goals box, name the panels (tank, fenders, fairing, tail) and the color and finish, then list what must stay the same.
- 4
Compare finishes
Try gloss next to matte on the same photo. Metallic and candy may need a retry.
Paint ideas we compared
Glossy candy red on the tank and front fender
Both came out a bright glossy red, but the side panel and the engine cover turned red too.
Matte dark green on fairing, tank and tail
A matte dark green across the white sport bike's bodywork. The front fender also turned green.
Pearl white on tank and both fenders
The tank, the rear fender and a side panel came out pearl white, but the front fender stayed black.
Before you book a paint job
- Ask a painter whether they can reproduce the finish you chose. Candy and pearl depend on the paint system, and a render cannot promise it.
- Ask for a painted sample panel and look at it outdoors.
- Decide between a tank-only job and a full repaint, and ask what each involves. We give no price or time here.
- Ask whether a decal or wrap fits better. See the motorcycle wrap page for that.
Three Modification Goals to paste
We used these requests for the examples. Copy one into Modification Goals, swap the colors and parts for your own, and delete anything that does not apply.
- Change ONLY the paint on the fuel tank and the front fender: repaint them a glossy candy red. Keep everything else on the motorcycle, the background and the camera angle exactly the same.
- Change ONLY the paint on the fairing, tank and tail: repaint them a matte dark green. Keep everything else on the motorcycle, the background and the camera angle exactly the same.
- Change ONLY the paint on the fuel tank and both fenders: repaint them a pearl white. Keep everything else on the motorcycle, the background and the camera angle exactly the same.
What the AI does well and where it slips
Whole-panel color changes usually come out well, and wheels and surroundings mostly stay put. Color spills onto nearby panels in the examples above, and one requested fender was missed. A render shows color and a rough finish only, so pearl and candy depth is not shown. If a render misses, rerun it with shorter, plainer wording.
Frequently asked questions
Can I see my motorcycle in matte black before I paint it?
Yes. Upload a side photo, name the panels, and write matte black in the Modification Goals box. Most new accounts get 5 free credits that last 30 days, and a standard render uses 1 credit. Free renders carry a WheelAI watermark.
What is the difference between candy, pearl and metallic?
Published paint guides describe candy as a tinted translucent coat over a reflective base, pearl as a pigment that shimmers and changes with the viewing angle, and metallic as paint with metal flakes that catch the light. A single still image cannot show how they move in light, so use the render for color only.
Can I paint only the tank and keep the rest?
You can ask for that: name the tank and list everything that must stay the same. In our examples the paint sometimes spread onto nearby panels, so compare the result with your photo.
Does the preview match real paint?
No, not exactly. The render is an AI picture of a color and a finish, and real paint depends on the paint system, lighting and the painter. Ask your painter for a sample panel.
Does it give a paint price or time?
No. This page shows a look only and gives no price, time or durability claim. Ask a painter for a written quote for your own bike.
What if the AI changes something I did not ask for?
It can. The image model redraws the whole photo, so a request for one part can spill onto a neighbor. The captions on this page name every spill we saw. Write what must stay the same, compare the result with your original, and rerun if a part changed.
