One car, four wrap colors
Each pair is the same white sedan photo and that photo after one Modification Goals request, sent through the same image model, step count and request wording that Custom Vision uses. Each after-image is a single run. The before photo was cleaned with the same model to remove badge-style emblems. The full request text sits under each pair.

All before and after images are AI-drawn samples from our own image model, not photos of real customer vehicles. The vehicle is a plain generic model with no plate. Under each pair we list which parts of the request worked, which did not, and any change we never asked for.
Four wrap colors on one car
Color swatches are small and flat, and it is hard to picture a whole car from them. Below, the same white sedan is shown in four common wrap looks, each made from the same before photo, so you can compare finish and color side by side. Then upload your own car and try any color you like.
The example vehicle is an AI-drawn generic car, not a photo of a real customer vehicle, and no vehicle maker or wrap film maker is affiliated with this page.
Wrap finishes, in plain words
Gloss
Shiny like factory paint. Metallic and pearl versions add sparkle. Shows swirls and water spots most.
Satin
A soft, low sheen between gloss and matte. Often chosen for grays, blacks and whites.
Matte
No shine at all, for a flat, stealthy look. Needs matte-safe cleaning products, no wax.
Color-shift
Films that change color with the viewing angle, such as teal to purple. See our color-shift wrap visualizer.
Chrome and metal
Mirror chrome, brushed metal and similar films. The most dramatic and the hardest to install and keep clean.
Texture
Carbon fiber pattern, forged carbon and similar films, often used on hoods, roofs and mirrors.

How to try a wrap color on your car
- 1
Take a clear photo
A front or rear three-quarter photo in even daylight, with the whole car in the frame.
- 2
Open the Modifications tool
Upload your photo and switch to Custom Vision.
- 3
Name the color and finish
Say the color, the finish (gloss, satin or matte) and that only the paint changes. List what must stay: windows, wheels, lights and background.
- 4
Compare a few colors
Run the same photo in two or three colors and compare them side by side before you visit a wrap shop.
Four Modification Goals to paste
We used these requests for the examples. Copy one into Modification Goals and swap the color, finish and background words for your own.
- Change ONLY the paint: wrap the car body in a matte black vinyl wrap with no shine; keep the windows, wheels, tires, grille, lights, driveway, house and the camera angle exactly the same
- Change ONLY the paint: wrap the car body in a satin military olive green vinyl wrap with a soft low sheen; keep the windows, wheels, tires, grille, lights, driveway, house and the camera angle exactly the same
- Change ONLY the paint: wrap the car body in a gloss metallic deep blue vinyl wrap; keep the windows, wheels, tires, grille, lights, driveway, house and the camera angle exactly the same
- Change ONLY the paint: wrap the car body in a satin medium gray vinyl wrap with a soft low sheen; keep the windows, wheels, tires, grille, lights, driveway, house and the camera angle exactly the same
What the AI does well and where it slips
Solid colors come out clean: the whole body changes color and the windows, wheels, lights and background stay the same. Finishes are harder to judge from a single still photo. Matte and satin read clearly as low-shine in our examples, but the exact sheen depends on the light in your photo, and a real film can look lighter or darker outdoors.
Frequently asked questions
What are the most popular car wrap colors?
The wrap shop guides we read most often name matte and satin black, satin grays, pearl and satin whites, color-shift films that change color with the viewing angle, deep greens and earth tones, and gloss metallic blues. These lists come from shops and reflect what they install, so treat them as ideas, not sales figures.
What is the difference between gloss, satin and matte wraps?
Gloss looks closest to factory paint and reflects the most light. Satin has a soft, low sheen between gloss and matte. Matte has no shine at all and needs cleaning products made for matte finishes. Specialty films such as chrome, brushed metal, carbon pattern and color-shift add texture or effects on top of a color.
Can I see a wrap color on my own car for free?
Yes. Sign in with email or Google, upload a photo of your car in the Modifications tool, and describe the color and finish in the Modification Goals box of Custom Vision. Most new accounts get 5 free credits that last 30 days, and a standard render uses 1 credit. Free renders carry a WheelAI watermark.
Will the color on screen match the real wrap film?
Not exactly. A render shows the general color and finish, but real films vary by maker and batch, and the look changes in sun, shade and at night. Pick two or three colors with the preview, then look at physical swatches outside before you decide.
Which wrap colors hide dirt best?
Shop guides disagree. Mid grays and silvers are often called forgiving, while gloss black and dark gloss colors show swirl marks, dust and water spots easily. Matte films hide light scratches but show oily marks and need matte-safe products.
What if the AI changes something I did not ask for?
It can. The image model redraws the whole photo. In our four examples the windows, wheels, lights and background stayed the same, but that is not guaranteed on every photo. Compare the result with your original and rerun if something changed.
Are wrap colors allowed everywhere?
Rules differ by place. Some areas restrict mirror-like chrome films, and many ask you to update the color on your vehicle registration after a full color change. Check your local rules before you wrap.
Ready to pick your wrap color?
Run your own car in two or three colors, then take the favorite to a wrap shop and ask to see the real film outside.
