Murdered Out Car: Preview the All-Black Look Before You Commit
A murdered out car is black everywhere: paint, wheels, trim, badges and grille, with no chrome left. See it on two example vehicles, then upload a photo of your own car and preview the look before you buy paint, wrap film or wheels.

Two vehicles, murdered out
Each pair is one AI-drawn before photo and that photo after one Modification Goals request, sent through the same image model, step count and request wording that Custom Vision uses. Each after-image is a single run, and where we reran a request the caption says so. The full request text sits under each pair.

All before and after images are AI-drawn samples from our own image model, not photos of real customer vehicles. The vehicles are plain generic models with no plate text. Under each pair we list which parts of the request worked, which did not, and any change we never asked for.
What a murdered out car is
A murdered out car keeps no chrome and no bright color: the body, wheels, grille, badges, window trim and mirrors are all black, and the glass is usually tinted. Some owners stop halfway, with black wheels, mirrors and trim on a colored body. Critics say a full black-out hides the body lines; a contrast brake caliper or one accent color is a common fix.
The vehicles below are AI-drawn generic models, not photos of real customer vehicles, and no vehicle maker is affiliated with this page.
The parts that usually get blacked out
Body
Matte, satin or gloss black paint or wrap.
Wheels
Gloss or matte black wheels. Painted or contrast calipers keep the brakes from looking out of place.
Grille and badges
Black grille, black or removed badges. See our chrome delete visualizer for trim only.
Window trim and mirrors
Window surrounds, mirror caps, door handles and roof rails in black.
Glass
Dark window tint, within your local legal limit. See our window tint visualizer.
Lights
Smoked light covers are popular but restricted in many places.
How to preview a murdered out look on your car
- 1
Take a clear photo
A front three-quarter photo in daylight, with the whole car in the frame.
- 2
Open the Modifications tool
Upload the photo and switch to Custom Vision.
- 3
List every part to black out
Name the finish for the body and wheels, and list the trim, badges and grille. Say what must stay the same.
- 4
Compare finishes
Run matte and gloss black on the same photo and compare them side by side.
Two Modification Goals to paste
We used these requests for the examples. Copy one into Modification Goals and change the parts and finish words for your own car.
- Change ONLY the finish to a murdered-out look: repaint the whole body satin flat black, make the wheels gloss black, turn every chrome trim piece, badge, window surround and the grille black, and darken the window tint; keep the car's shape, wheels size, lights, background and camera angle exactly the same
- Change ONLY the finish to a murdered-out look: repaint the whole truck satin flat black, make the wheels gloss black, turn all chrome bumpers, grille, mirrors, handles and trim black, and darken the window tint; keep the truck's shape, wheel size, lights, background and camera angle exactly the same
What the AI does well and where it slips
The paint, wheels, grille and chrome trim went black cleanly on both vehicles. Window tint is the weak spot: in our runs the glass did not get visibly darker. If tint matters to you, ask for it in a separate run or use the window tint visualizer.
Frequently asked questions
What does murdered out mean?
It is car slang for a vehicle blacked out from top to bottom: paint, wheels, trim, badges, grille, mirrors and usually the window tint, with no chrome or bright metal left. It describes a look and has nothing to do with violence. Where the name came from is not well documented.
Should a murdered out car be matte or gloss?
Either one counts; the rule is that everything is black. Many builders mix matte, satin and gloss black on different parts so the car keeps some depth and its body lines still show.
Is it done with paint or a wrap?
Both. A full wrap in matte or satin black can be peeled off later, and trim and badges are often wrapped in black vinyl or swapped for black parts. Paint is more permanent.
Is a murdered out car legal?
A black car is legal. The limits are on window tint and on darkened headlights and taillights, which are set by state or local law. Many places require rear lamps to show red or amber. Check your local rules before you tint glass or smoke lights.
Is black hard to keep clean?
Yes. Dust, water spots and swirl marks show quickly on black. Matte and satin finishes need matte-safe shampoo and should not be waxed or polished. Gloss black needs clean microfiber mitts.
Can I preview it on my own car for free?
Yes. Sign in with email or Google, upload a photo of your car in the Modifications tool and paste a goal like the ones below into Modification Goals in Custom Vision. Most new accounts get 5 free credits that last 30 days, and a standard render uses 1 credit. Free renders carry a WheelAI watermark.
What if the AI changes something I did not ask for?
It can. The image model redraws the whole photo. In our two examples the tint request did not show, while the rest of the black-out worked. Compare the result with your original and rerun if something changed.
Ready to black it out?
Run your own car in matte and gloss black, then take the favorite to a paint or wrap shop.
