Before and after examples

Each pair is one vehicle photo and the same photo after one Modification Goals request, sent through the same image model, step count and request wording that Custom Vision uses. Each after-image is a single run. Before photos were cleaned with the same model to remove brand-style badges. The full request text sits under each pair.

BeforeAI-drawn sample: a black two-door coupe with black steel wheels seen from the side on a street
AfterAI-drawn sample: the same coupe with white letters around the sidewalls of both visible tires
Black generic coupe stand-in. Modification Goals: "Add raised white letters on the outer sidewall of every visible tire that read WIDE OVAL in a curve around the tire; change ONLY the tire sidewalls. Keep the wheels, paint, body, street and the camera angle exactly the same". Followed: white letters in a ring around the sidewall of both visible tires, and the wheels, paint, body and street look the same. Not followed: the letters do not spell WIDE OVAL or any real word. Extra changes: none that we could see.
BeforeAI-drawn sample: a gray crew cab pickup truck with off-road tires on a dirt trail
AfterAI-drawn sample: the same pickup with white letters on the sidewalls of both visible tires
Gray generic pickup stand-in. Modification Goals: "Add raised white outline letters on the outer sidewall of every visible tire that read ALL TERRAIN in a curve around the tire; change ONLY the tire sidewalls. Keep the wheels, tread, paint, body, trail and the camera angle exactly the same". Followed: white letters around the sidewall of both visible tires, and the wheels, tread, paint, body and trail look the same. Not followed: the front tire's letters look partly like TERRAIN but do not spell ALL TERRAIN, and the rear tire's letters are not readable. Extra changes: none that we could see.
BeforeAI-drawn sample: a dark green SUV with black wheels on a gravel lot seen from a front corner
AfterAI-drawn sample: the same SUV with white letters on the sidewalls of both visible tires
Dark green generic SUV stand-in. Modification Goals: "Add raised white letters on the outer sidewall of every visible tire that read OFF ROAD RADIAL in a curve around the tire; change ONLY the tire sidewalls. Keep the wheels, tread, paint, body, gravel lot and the camera angle exactly the same". Followed: white letters around the sidewall of both visible tires, and the wheels, tread, paint, body and gravel lot look the same. Not followed: the letters do not spell OFF ROAD RADIAL or any real word. Extra changes: none that we could see.

All before and after images are AI-drawn samples from our own image model, not photos of real customer vehicles. The vehicles are plain generic models with blank plates. Under each pair we list which parts of the request worked, which did not, and any change we never asked for.

See white letters on your own tires first

White letter tires are a classic muscle car, hot rod and truck look, and they change the whole side of a car. Many owners also mount them with the letters facing in. WheelAI redraws a photo of your own vehicle with white letters on the tires, so you can see the look before you buy.

The example vehicles below are AI-drawn generic vehicles, not photos of real customer vehicles, and no vehicle maker or parts maker is affiliated with this page.

How to preview white letter tires

There is no special mode for this part. The Modifications tool edits any vehicle photo, and its Custom Vision mode takes your own wording.

  1. 1

    Take a side photo

Stand a few steps back from the side or a front corner with both tires in sharp focus.

  2. 2

    Open the Modifications tool

Upload your photo and switch to Custom Vision.

  3. 3

Ask for the letters and what stays

Say raised white letters or outline white letters on the tire sidewalls, and list what must not change: wheels, tread, paint, body and background.

  4. 4

    Compare and refine

Look at the tires next to your original. Ignore the wording; judge the look.

Looks we compared

Black coupe on black steel wheels

White letters stand out hard against black tires and black wheels, a classic muscle car look.

Gray pickup on off-road tires

Letters on a chunky tread give the trail truck look.

Dark green SUV on black wheels

White letters add contrast to a dark color without changing the wheels.

What a picture cannot tell you

A render shows whether you like white letters. Before you buy, ask about the following.

  • Whether the tire you want comes in a white letter version in your size.
  • Raised versus outline letters, and which way the letters face when mounted.
  • How to clean the white layer and which dressings to avoid.
  • For a sticker or paint kit, how long it lasts and how it comes off.

Three Modification Goals to paste

We used these requests for the examples. Copy one into Modification Goals, swap the vehicle and background words for your own, and delete anything that does not apply. You can leave out the words to spell, since the model does not spell them.

  • Add raised white letters on the outer sidewall of every visible tire that read WIDE OVAL in a curve around the tire; change ONLY the tire sidewalls. Keep the wheels, paint, body, street and the camera angle exactly the same
  • Add raised white outline letters on the outer sidewall of every visible tire that read ALL TERRAIN in a curve around the tire; change ONLY the tire sidewalls. Keep the wheels, tread, paint, body, trail and the camera angle exactly the same
  • Add raised white letters on the outer sidewall of every visible tire that read OFF ROAD RADIAL in a curve around the tire; change ONLY the tire sidewalls. Keep the wheels, tread, paint, body, gravel lot and the camera angle exactly the same

What the AI does well and where it slips

The model puts white letters on the right part of the tire and keeps the wheels, paint and background. The weak spot is spelling: in every test the letters were not real words. That is fine for judging the look, which is what a visualizer is for.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a free white letter tires visualizer that uses my own photo?

Yes. Sign in with email or Google, upload a side photo of your vehicle, and ask for raised white letters in the Modification Goals box. Most new accounts get 5 free credits that last 30 days, and a standard render uses 1 credit. Free renders carry a WheelAI watermark. It edits your own picture rather than a tire catalog photo.

Can it spell the words I want on the tire?

No. In all three of our tests the model drew white letters in the right place but did not spell the words we asked for. Use the render to judge the look of white letters on your wheels and paint, not the exact wording. Real tires carry the maker's own lettering.

What do RWL and OWL mean?

RWL means raised white letters, and OWL means outlined white letters, where each letter is a white outline. Both are made by exposing a white rubber layer in the sidewall. You can ask for either look.

What photo works best?

A side or front corner photo from a few steps back with the tires in sharp focus and the wheels pointing straight.

Can I get the look without new tires?

Some people use tire lettering kits, stickers or paint pens on the tires they have. A render cannot show how long those last; ask the seller.

What if the AI changes something I did not ask for?

It can. The image model redraws the whole photo. In our examples the wheels, paint and background stayed the same, but the letters never spelled real words. Compare the result with your original and rerun if something changed.

Why do white letters turn brown or yellow?

Guides we read say oils in the rubber and some tire dressings can stain the white layer over time, and that a gentle cleaner helps. Ask the tire seller how to clean the tires you buy.

Ready to see white letters on your tires?

Try white letters on one photo, then look for the tire you want in a white letter version in your size.
